** spoiler alert ** This hilarious sequel is well worth the read. Our favorite neurotic opium, Bridget, whom we like just as she is, finds herself in some more lively, embarrassing, adventurous predicaments including an international incident involving accidental biologic trafficking, and a dangerous stalker. Meanwhile, she and Mark Darcy have their own disagreements to work through in their tie-in. This prose is very funny--much good-humored than the movie, and like its predecessor, takes its direction (very loosely) from classic novelist Jane Austen. However, unlike the first which takes after Austen's Pride & Warp, this drama is driven from scheme and problems found in Austen's other esteemed prose, Cogency. Overall, a very funny and entertaining read.
