This bestseller is the first novel in the Guardians sequence, but Brook introduced the sequence in the Hot Release collection of accounts, if you’d like to start there. Brook has also begun a new steampunk sequence, beginning with the unusual and thrilling bestseller The Iron Duke. Meljean Countenances’ Guardians sequence is super steamy, saga in scale, and full of intriguing figures. The first full bestseller in the sequence, Archfiend Angel , pusses an unlikely romance between an heavenly guardian and “Halfling” archfiend. This is the first book in a series 'Maroon the Priest's Wife'. Charming & funny, simply written, with little finesse or taste. A light read with no bombshells, swivels or turns. Astute literary critics will probably see the end coming a mile away. Active, but not suspenseful. Relaxing.

Lovers of Sherlock Holmes-type grabbers will certainly enjoy this solitary. Finch gives us a sleuth and doctor duo who are a bit more down to macrocosm an approachable than Doyle's. The story is full of bizarre clues, judgments and setbacks but in Finch's situation the heavenly body is expanded bringing in other characters and contribution a glimpse into the otherwise average activity of the characters. I most enjoyed the interweaving of the biography, politics and social disposition of term 1866 Albion. Usually I will do a bit of my own research just for fun to see how accurate the historical details ares in the novels I read; I have not done this for September Society but as the ghostwriter is a graduate of Footwear I doubt much of the biography would be fictionalized. Speaking of Footwear, the ghostwriter's details of the grounds are so vivid I have the impression as if I have been there. This is a wonderfully well-rounded novel; the heavenly body is three dimensional and the characters distinct and vivid.
